Master Kun Bae Lee
Dr. Lee played an important role in the development of Korean fencing, and his contributions are crucial. Not only has he served as the president of the Korean Fencing Association and the president of the Korean Collegiate Fencing Association for more than 35 years, but he was also the general manager and head coach for numerous international events for the Korean national fencing team for many years. He received many awards for his critical role in Korean fencing history. As a coach and a renowned professor at the Korean National Sports University, he coached many fencers who won numerous individual and team national and international championships. He also coached national team fencers and Olympic medalists, including Hyun-hee Nam, Byungchul Choi, Wooyoung Won, Junghwan Kim, Heesuk Jun, A Lam Shin and Wonjin Kim. He was the coach and head coach for the Korean National team for 15 years.
Internationally, he has served as a member of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) Match Review Committee for 4 years, and took part in many roles in international events and committees.
